A vintage 1968 Phoenix Rally Camper reimagined into a dessert truck!
Started in 2011, Puttin' On The Mitts began as a side project upon graduating college after I decided that I wanted to share my love of baking with the world. And after over a decade of hard work, thousands of cookies, cakes and smiles, here we are!
A fully mobile dessert food truck and caterer, Puttin' On The mitts offers delectable sweets and treats made from local ingredient sourced in the Finger Lakes. We can be found wandering Seneca Lake and the surrounding areas but can also be hired for private events, weddings and parties! We also occasionally offer savory foods and snacks depending on our location!
Not only do we have a wide array of classically delicious puddings and baked goods, but we also cater to those with dietary needs and restrictions such a gluten intolerance, dairy allergies, diabetes, special diets and more!
Please let us know how we can help sweeten up your sweet tooth today!
Founded on the principal of sustainability, Puttin' On The Mitts is not only a food truck, but also a platform to teach the public about plastic prevention and what we can do to help reduce our footprint. Check out all the ways we are reducing our impact on the earth.
We add more dates regularly so stop by and see where we will be!
Plastic production has increased exponentially, from 2.3 million tons in 1950 to 448 million tons by 2015. Production is expected to double by 2050. We have made it our mission to use no single use plastics in our daily operations and to educate the public on how they can help.
Working hand in hand with local composting companies, were are able to properly compost all of our waste including cups, boxes, utensils and food waste! The compost is then able to be reused to grow more food, flowers and help (not harm) the earth we live on!
Remember back in the day how there would be a deposit on glass milk bottles? Well we are going back to the old school way with our jar deposit program! Bring us a jar, and get some money back towards more dessert! It can be dirty or clean, and you can even bring them from home too!
“But, It’s just one fork,”
Multiplied by millions upon millions, those plastic utensils we use often are just plain terrible for the environment. We pledge to only use sustainably harvested wooden and biodegradable plant plastic utensils.
Did you know that Americans use 500 million drinking straws every day and that they make up .025% of the plastic waste the enters the oceans?
We are doing our part to save our oceans by using paper, metal and silicone reusable straws only.
2.3 million tons of Styrofoam ends up in landfills yearly, accounting for about 30% of landfill space worldwide.
That is a scary statistic!
We will only use compostable take out boxes, greenware cups and paper bags and do our part not to add to this staggering number.
